Digital TV or still analog CRT?
I'm sure everyone has heard of Best Buys announcement of no longer selling analog CRT TV's. We all know it was coming but are we all prepared? What kind of TV is everyone using now? My TV's are both still analog I'm sad to say. I just see no reason to spend two or three thousand dollars on a TV. I guess people like me are the target of this decision by Best Buy. I'm sure other stores will follow.
Anyone else that still hasn't taken the plunge into a higher priced tomorrow? Or am I an aging dinosaur soon to be extinct or killed off? It's just too much money to sit and stare at. I would much rather build a gaming rig. lol |

Re: Digital or still analog?
50" Samsung plasma, at the moment but going back to a 32" CRT. soon as im moving, but with sky which will be digital.
I thought it wasn’t the TV but the signal as long as you have a box capable of decoding the signal, be it satellite or cable then the TV can be an old BW and 14” as long as you can connect it to the box, lot of the new TV’s over here come with the free digital service built in ( it has a decoder built in ) |

Re: Digital TV or still analog CRT?
I chose 100% analog. I have a few TVs in my house, but I really don't use them, I download all the shows I want using eztvefnet.org (and other torrent sites) and watch them on my computer.
That said, one TV in my house has a digital box with DVR, and the rest are using analog coax connections to the wall. I don't know, I just prefer watching shows without commercials, and downloading them "illegally" is the only way. Sure DVR allows you to fast forward, but still, it distracts from the show. (BTW, I have over 500GB of just TV shows archived, lol) |

Re: Digital or still analog?
LCD all the way, had a 32" LCD but the ex took that, some of the new plasma's are good and you get more screen for your buck, but LCD hods the crown for me, until we get the next gen organic light-emitting diode sets.
get one it takes less space and the picture is so much better. ![]() |

Re: Digital TV or still analog CRT?
Oh LCD
This summer, I bought a new appartment, and didnt have any furnitures.. So I went on a shoppingspree. I was looking for a flat screen, but I also found out that all the shops stopped selling CRT last year here in norway.. I bought a 37' LG 100hertz widescreen . It looks and feels great. When i go to my moms house, her TV feels to small even if it is 30 inch.. I didnt want a bigger TV cause it wouldnt fit in my livingroom.. It would be to redneck style or whatever you over there call it.. "Harry" Only bad thing, is if the picture quality sux, you will notice it alot more then on a CRT. Like once i watched LOTR on local TV channel, and they used a sucky quality video, my divx rip was better.. lol |
