What are we looking at for a closing date on this poll, jump?

I voted no because the rules really seem to be the same as the current forums, they may even more draconian than the current forums given that some people may be denied access based on thier sense of humor, anger level or stoicism.

The one rule that does makes sense and argues well for a private forum is the "Aubrey Rule". That alone may justify the existence of a sandbox type forum that is "safe" from prying eyes. We all know Aubrey didn't get banned for making threats, he got banned because he made himself momentarily vulnerable to "she that must never be named". The unnamed one and no doubt those she worked with at Th...err let's just call them "the despised"... wanted revenge on a gaming community that had come to deeply despise and mock them, Aubrey was the unfortunate victim of that revenge (one of many victim's actually....remember the sudden and unprecedented language bans?)

I kind of agree with net's reasoning for not wanting it too:

Well, I don't see that at all.

I wouldn't worry too much about the above listed rules since they were thrown up on a whim and nothing is set in stone. This is just an opinion poll to get the feel from the community. Thanks for doing so.

Oh, and no need to be so coy about Themis. Everyone knows how I feel about that. It's not like I ever kept it secret or anything.

You should see if Hornet archived the sandbox from Jumpgate Web there and print yourself out a copy and keep it in your bathroom for a few days. I think you could pretty fairly decide whether or not it'd be a worthwhile endeavor from that, as a lot of the community members remain.
