Funding
Coming up shortly I'm going to have to renew my server for another year. That's going to be a lot tougher this year without the support of -=MACK=-. So if any of you folks wish to help out then feel free to do so. Any help will be much appreciated.
I've tried using google adds but no one ever clicks through so after about 9 months I think the sum total is up to about $13. Since they don't even pay till it reaches $100, you can see how well that will help. ![]() Another expense will be the $160 to purchase the permanent license for Vbulletin. I only purchased a one year licence last year. I found it to be absolutely awsome and worth the cost. Anyway, it's my site and my creation so it's ultimately, my responsibility. But if you like where this site is heading and you enjoy my tools then any help would be most appreciated. And please, no suggestions of cheaper hosts, etc... Without my own server and the excellent support I recieve from our current host. I could never put out the tools I do now. Not too many shared hosts would let me run the 30 or so crons I have that parse JOSSH for all the various info. So if you feel like helping out just look for the "Paid Subscriptions" link in your user profile. Have a nice day. Jump |

I take donations at any time. There's always things that come up. Domain names, etc. Then it just sits there until the next years bill.
I just actually looked at my Vbulletin license and I see that it actually doesn't expire until May 21st. So that makes it easier. Once I get that permanent license then it only cost $30 a year for support/updates. And of course you can hold off on something like that untill you actually need to update. ![]() I kind of regret now not buying the full license but I didn't know if I would like it or not. I knew it was good, I just didn't know it was this good. Live and learn I guess. Anyway, like I said, any help is appreciated. |

One way you can help easily is to click through an add on the front page once in awhile. By click through I mean click on something on the destination page. We get nothing for clicking the add itself, just click throughs. Who knows, you might find something you like. If everyone clicked through a few times a week, we could probably fund half the server every year.
I'm also thinking of adding a google search bar to generate revenue. Though it hasn't done much at OG, it has done better than adds. I'm open to other suggestions for generating revenue to pay the bills. |

![]() I notice the past week that some peeps have been clicking through the adds. Thanks, keep it up. If we only made a one dollar a day it would take care of a third of the cost around here. ![]() Anyway, thanks for the free click throughs. ![]() |

Thanks. Every bit helps. Though it might look better if the source is from various users. I'm not allowed to click them. We get the boot if I do. I think they check my IP when I look at the account and check for hits by that IP. Or some thing like that. I don't blame them for that.
Who knows, you might find something you like. We seem to be getting the same adds lately. Might be from lack of new info on the front page. ![]() |
