So wikipedia wants to get into the search engine business? Then I guess the only response for Google is to get in the user contributed knowledge business. This should be fun to watch.

Definitely going to be interesting with this. Search really hasn't changed all that much in the last 10 years if you look at it as a whole. The next big step is human powered/highly-categorized/time-sensitive search so it'll be fun to watch where the major players (and new ones) take the old Search model.

Squidoo.com is basically what the Knol is being modeled after (with the usual Google bandwidth added).
