Re: Like Jumpgate Evolution, I'm moving forward . . .
Even if I completely disagree with everything Ambro posts (not that I do) he still remains one of the "sane-er" posters in the Jumpgate world. Dissenting views are always important so I'm sad to see you go. See you in Jumpgate Evolution.

I hate to be the one to point it out to you all, but there is a good chance Ambro wont be reading this. Still its the thought that counts I suppose.

Re: Like Jumpgate Evolution, I'm moving forward . . .
Ambro is a long time Jumpgate player and has done a lot for the game and the community. However, it has been evident for quite some time that he just does not like me. I really have no problem with him other than how he demonstrates his dislike for me. It makes me uncomfortable and I will not be uncomfortable on my own site. This effects our relationship constantly as we both probably respond in less than desirable ways. I can admit this as I fully understand I am human and my actions have a percentage of emotions behind them at all times. Whether he can admit it, well, that's up to him.
Ambro left by his own choice at no prompting from me, let me make that clear. If he is not happy here then of course, it's good to move on. He is always welcome here and can return of his own volition. Though with the way I have been publicly trashed since then on other sites it may be even more uncomfortable for me. I may not be the greatest webmaster of all time. You will never see my sites listed at big-boards.com. No one is every going to build statues of me or say this is the greatest fan site of all time. And I really don't care. Because the greatest deleted all your posts and moderated everyone in the end. I am not trying to create a legend here, just something that can endure. A site that the vast majority of players will feel as comfortable as possible in frequenting. And in doing so, it is hoped that everyone will find some reason to come here even if they don't like everything. With that goal is also the knowledge that everyone will find something they don't like here. None of us like limitations but that is just a fact of life. The Jumpgate fan sites that had no limits have not endured. This site has endured through the dark times of Jumpgate and will continue on as a the new game emerges. It will endure if thousands come here, it will endure if I sit here alone for weeks on end, and it will endure even if I am not currently playing. I think I have already proven the latter two. After reading comments on other fan sites it is pretty much apparent that some of you , maybe all, think I am a piece of ****. I can't tell you how much that hurts after all these years, but it doesn't matter. I set out to create this site with a goal in mind and I am resolute in steering that course. This site will of course be lessened without Ambro but that is out of my control. He can return if he wishes at any time. If his goal by his posts on other sites was to hurt me, then he has accomplished that goal. If it was to destroy me then no, it would take more than that. Good luck Ambro, I wish you well and look forward to a day when you will return to Joystick Required. |

Not every one will ever see eye to eye with every one But I’am going to miss the verbal/written sparing match’s off Ambro vs. who ever it might be this time around that has taken his bait. |

Re: Like Jumpgate Evolution, I'm moving forward . . .
Back in the golden days of computer networking, when BBS's were all the rage, the SysOp was the god-like creature behind the scenes with seemingly ultimate power. Some were *******s, elitists, or worse. But that didn't matter, because it's THEIR HOUSE. and if you dont like the rules in their house, then you behave or go someplace else.
In my experience, JumpDemon is not an *******. He seems dedicated to providing a service for this community out of his own pocket, and I respect that and I am grateful for that service. But even if he were, it does not matter. This is his house. Now, with that said, Ambro is a good guy whos views I often find myself agreeing with. It's a shame to lose him. However, Ambro recognized this is Jump's house, and decided to leave his house for a different crack den. And that's fine. I dont believe there should be any further trash talking. The situation was resolved in a mature way and Ambro decided to leave. Jump, keep up the good work. Ambro, i'll catch you elsewhere. |

Re: Like Jumpgate Evolution, I'm moving forward . . .
Healthy Debate. That is what i have always liked about this site. For the most part personal attacks have been limited here by us and by the moderators. I am sorry that Ambro has decided to leave but i agree with Trit in that - its Jumps house, and if ya don't like it then postulate elsewhere
![]() Here's hoping Ambro comes back and thanks to Jump for providing this site. |
