Of course they are getting rid of it. They are using it for warmonger currently and it will obviously be used for Jumpgate Evolution as well. Why not run your own online gaming system? Heck even EVGA has one. They're all the rage now.

Notice the forums are at community.netdevil.com and not the Jumpgate Evolution domain. Obviously they intend to add other games there when they get it working correctly. I sure hope they didn't put it on windows server again. That would explain some of the issues.

Well, I am sure it has it's purpose and is good for many things. But in my opinion, PHP/Mysql sites perform far better on a LAMP setup. I just did some vBulletin work on a real nice setup. 2 mysql servers, 2 memcached servers for the vBulletin datastore and templates, all images were served from another server that was setup up using lighttpd. *drools*

I've been using dreamhost which has their web servers connected to SAN servers and seperate sql servers. All Linux, all ultra fast, and great reliability even under heavy load.
