I take theres no way to stretch a background image to fit the size of the bacground?

The only option I see is to repeat either horizontal, vertical, none, or both.

These are all new features which are new to me as well so we learn as we go.

No, it will not stretch, you have to tile which cuts down what type of back ground you can use.
