My fav internet service will close down 28. February.

Yes, Stage6.. This is a step back for internetvideo. This is like when Napster closed down.

I just hope there will be even better service comming soon, Flash videos suck, really.

The new version of flash supports H264, thats why they shut down.

Flash will be getting better as more services upgrade to Flash 8 server.

Yeah, this sucks. I love Stage 6. I've sat down with my son and watched episodes of Thomas the Train and other cartoons on there in very high quality. I am half tempted to go download as much of everything as I can fit on a stack of DVDs. I've not found another site with the variety and quality of videos, period. YouTube's quality=

I was talking out my ass.

They shut down because of Egos between stage 6 "founders" and the DivX board.

Long story short, 20 or so people moved from divx and founded stage 6, Stage6 went through the whole Venture Capitol/Investor Hunt, got close to making a deal, and Divx saw how much stage6 was worth and told them they couldn't spin off, so the founders left. With the entire team gone, Divx could not update or upkeep the site so they decided to shut it down.

Still kinda a long story even shortened

H264 is already built in, just most sites arnt using it.

You will notice really high quality flash videos out there occasionally, those are 99% h264 based, or REALLY high bit rate flash.

cool.. Anyway.. in my search for a new videosite I came across Vimeo, Video Sharing For You

It is also flash based I believe, but some of the videos have great quality.. Not sure about content yet.
