The server will be down again for a few minutes most likely tomorrow night around 11:00 PM PT. We will be upgrading apache, php, and mysql to the latest and greatest. Mysql will be tonight as it requires no downtime. Also of note, we will be installing TurkMMcache. Which will allow me to compile and cache php scripts for faster delivery of the good stuff to your broswer.
We will also be configuring mod_deflate so Apache can compress text output to your browser. What does all this mean to you? A leaner, meaner and even more uber Joystick Required. ![]() |

So no one has noticed faster load times? It seems much faster to me. The word I would use is "snappy" when pages load. PHP pages are being cached now. Plus all text is being compressed with mod_deflate. I also implemented query caching for the database. But that I will only be doing for certain scripts.
