Some coming pains at JSR

Well, I am moving on. The bad news is I will be leaving a world I understand and am comfortable with. The good news is we will have 4 times the memory, 6 times the bandwidth and 6 times the disk space. It will take some getting used to my new world of less stress and tweaking. We have done well with what we have had but it's time to move on to better things.

The coming pains are that moving is never easy whether it be a household or a server. So expect some interruptions and upside down pages in the near future. It also didn't come cheap. Well it did, but not for a guy on disability. So anyone that wants to help old Jump recover some cost then feel free to do so. If not then just enjoy the site.

Hopefully I won't screw it up. I am always nervous moving to a new server. Last time everything that could go wrong went wrong. Hopefully this time will be blessed and smooth sailing.

It will be nice not to have worry about every little waste of resources. Though it's always a good thing to worry about. But not to the point that it drives you crazy. It does pay off however. I was looking at Google's posted load times for this site and with all the tweaks I did in Nov and December you can see Google's page load times went to 25% of what they were. I hope you guys experienced the same results.

How do you check the Google page load times? I only recently discovered Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test to figure out my actual up/down load speeds.

Two entirely different things Bill. When you have websites you can signup for Google's webmaster tools and they give you info on your sites and what they see.
