Talk about a wakeup call
This morning I decided to head over to my parents house to check up on them as my mom has the flu and my dad was not feeling well either.
As im driving down the street I notice firetrucks and police cars all over the place. I turn down their street and people are everywhere looking at the house thats engulfed in flames. I park my car in my parents driveway and my father and mother are watching the house across the canal. Around 7:00 AM the house erupted in flames killing 7 college students inside. What most people dont understand and probably wont, is just how close these beach houses are built together. Had the winds been the same direction they were the night before, things could have been much much worse. As it happened, he winds shifted direction and the flames from the house were blowing towards the canal side, and not towards the houses next to it. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends.
It will be hard on them but it will also be hard on the neighbors, cause they to will live with the memory . |
