Re: Tatiana
When you say this, I agree with you Jump. However, wishing to be their to "shoot it myself" is just plain crazy! If there's a tiger on the loose I intend to be as far away from it as possible!

Re: Tatiana
When I say that, I am saying as a Father. If was there and saw some kid getting malled it would have had a six inch blade inserted as many times as I could.

Re: Tatiana
For what it's worth, there's this.
I suppose it's possible that the tiger got bored and just hopped the fenced and started mauling whoever was standing around. It seems to me, though, that most things have a cause. The crummy thing is that it sounds like the kid who actually got killed was only _with_ the folks doing the 'roaring and taunting'. Guess the kids who were trying to provoke the reaction were more ready for it when it came. Tho in the end, we really will never know. We weren't there, and no video feed exists (at least, not that we know of). So, true enough, we can't say for sure. Still, when deciding between a lawyer and a random person, i'll believe the random person every time ![]() |

Re: Tatiana
This is a local zoo for me guys. I get the local news not the internet. Police could not substantiate the womans story and she stated that the guy that died did not taunt the animal.
Every third grader at the Zoo roars at the lions. lol If some third graders were "roaring" at the lions would they then deserve to die as well? sfgate seems to quote the police a bit different than the local papers I have read. sfgate seems to leave out the second half of the first sentence. "Police talked to Miller on Wednesday, but were not able to corroborate reports that the victims taunted the tigers. They also could not substantiate Miller's claim that a fourth person was with the attack victims, or what effect the taunting she described might have had." It's already been stated that the wall was too short. So it was only a matter of time. It is the responsibility of the zoo to ensure that something can't happen "no matter what". I prefer the Oakland zoo myself. |

Re: Tatiana
I suspect we won't know until the sue the zoo case is over...or maybe not until the book the survivors write comes out.
The benefit of the doubt is still going to Tatiana in my opinion. If every 3rd grader had been doing what those punks had been doing, it would have happened a lot sooner I would think. I've known my fair share of teenagers, and a good percentage of those would be dumb enough to grab a tiger by the tail as the saying goes. Since I'm a theorist, here's my theory: Dipshit #1 stood on the wall and dangled his leg taunting Tiger B and didn't see Tatiana getting ready to pounce. When Tatiana pounced and grabbed his leg he jerked back and helped pull her over the wall. |

Re: Tatiana
Tiger was just being a tiger.
The Zoo will ultimately pay, but will never be enough for the family with the loss. I would have hated to do it, but I would have taken the tiger out before letting him maul someone, even taunting assholes. |
