When I was in the army I was stationed in an airport, the stunts you see can be quite impressive sometimes.

Wow, first post of the day. I thought the site was broken.

Yeah it is scary. Some of the cheesy airlines I have flown in my day were scary like that too. Always bring extra underwear.

heh, pretty nifty... but a fair number of those were crab landings.. intentionally landing at a slight angle to the runway due to heavy crosswinds.

And some were just scarrrrry landings

I was thinking that several of those were wind induced. Of course, being able to do that is decent piloting skill, so saying that they're good pilots is pretty much true. I'm kind of interested in the situation of the one that turned onto the runway at such a low altitude for his landing. Emergency situation?

My dad has interesting stories from his time in South America like that. (seeing sheep at eye level on the side of a mountain comes to mind)
