Dude, I CAN'T wait for this game to come out!!! I have signed up for beta testing and I really hope I get a chance to help work the bugs out and get into this game early. I have never played the original Jumpgate but have always been a big fan of space flight sims. The Wing Commander series was one of the best back in the day, but unfortunately nothing has really come out as of late.

I believe X3 was one of the better games that has come out fairly recently, however the learning curve was something severe and would limit most players. It was gorgeous and you could do a LOT in the game but it could get VERY tedious and I stopped playing. Also, it was a single player game and I believe people like to play with others and MMO's are going to have a long life ahead of themselves.

Question. Have any of you out there played X3 or seen it before? The graphics to the new Jumpgate look pretty comparible and maybe even better and that is why I'm drawn to it like a moth to the light!

I bought X3 when it came out. I didn't really play it that long though. There were some annoying bugs and some control issues.
As for the graphics, i'd say they're better in X3 with the massive stations an' stuff, but Jumpgate Evolution seems to have some very nice effects which makes up for it.
Also X3 is more of a empire building game, where Jumpgate Evolution is more fun at the core(fighting and such) and a multiplayer game.

Actually they had plans to do a X MMO game, X-online a few years back.
I think the idea is scrapped though, the game is not on their Homepage anymore, and they've just announced a new game for release this year ( X: Terran Conflict).
