Why is it harder to work some days more than others?

Now, let's quickly throw out the obvious stuff, special events, etc. Today is just a normal day and I should be typing about carpal tunnel right now, but here I am instead and repeatedly trying to get the Ice Hockey high score over in the arcade.

Really, the day isn't much different from yesterday but I'm finding it very difficult to get any work done...

I think its like anything else in life. You can only operate at a certain level for only so long. At the point you can no longer operate at the level you had been operating at, you have to have a break in the monotony(sp?). So your body, mind, and soul will wander.
