Post [TRI News] Civilian Pilots on Strike

106.10.13.9:50.26

By Rafel Solamis
Solrain Core (TRI-FP) - Led by vorlon31, a strike has been organized to down the economic production of military goods. He has gathered some supporters and has even carried out his entire plan to some degree of success.

But why? The motto of this strike is "DOWN with production - UP with TOW's speeds!!". This group of strikers is attempting to gain attention to increase the speed of the "Tow" catagory of ships across all factions. Their solution to gain enough attention is to bring the economy to its knees by hording, refusing transporting of goods, and propaganda.

Their plan has had a degree of success, but has not stopped production completely. There are those that continue to transport products and supply the economy with the much needed goods. The military of each faction is the most obvious organization that will suffer from the loss of goods. So far, there has been to retaliation by the military to force the civilians back to work or to recruit new workers to replace the ones on strike. Although we were unable to gain comments from the military from any faction on the strike, I believe that from the stockpiles of weapons, missiles, shields, engines, and power plants, the military isn't suffering from the strike, yet.

In a statement released to us, Arbin Mallow says: "This strike is not helping the Solrain people. We are actively losing money and profit from such actions, and though we see the benefit of a development that would increase the speed of our cargo transports, we are seeing too much loss of capital to support these actions. I call upon all Solrain members of this strike to discontinue and resume the ideals of all Solrain people and try to bring our economy back up to the leader of commerce that we are."

No other factions would comment on the strike.

While asking for comments from factory workers on Soria, a worker that wishes to have his identity conceled has this to say: "I dunno why these pilots are refusing to make money! We work hard down here, and just cause some pilots are wanting some faster ships to make more money, I don't know why WE have to suffer. We don't get paid to sit around waiting for materials, we get paid to work on the materials and produce our superior products."
