TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) - As a result of a long-delayed expense
review program, TRI announced today that it will shortly cease operating the
pilot insurance program that has been part of TRI since the second recruiting
era. Sagrith Hubri, speaking for the TRI Economic
Affairs Office, made the announcement on behalf of TRI: "The factional
governments are themselves assuming responsibility for this long-running
program. While this is a major reduction of TRI's vital role supporting the
Reconstruction, the financial burden of insurance produced a huge portion of
TRI's historical cost overruns. It is hoped the governments will find the costs
more bearable when they are responsible only for supporting their own
pilots."
"The cost of insuring pilots will no doubt remain significant, but now
there will be accountability to show that Solrain funding is no longer being
used to cover the terrible safety records of, for example, trigger-happy
Octavian pilots," Solrain STCC member and magnate Arbin
Mallow responded.

Updates to how the pilot cadre will be affected by the new insurance system
are expected from TRI and the individual governments in the very near term. This
change to flight insurance programs is expected to dramatically improve TRI's
corporate bottom line, and a formal motion to list TRI as a corporate stock on
the Sorian Exchange has been placed before the STCC for action later this year.
