SOLRAIN CORE (TRI-FP) - TRI Pilot Osprey has announced the dates for Weekend of War VI:
"You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll scream for your mommy...
"Ladies and gentlemen, it brings me great pleasure to announce WoW VI 'The Reunion'. WoW VI will begin on 105.09.02 and run through 105.09.05.
"A pilot sign up and squad leader nomination thread will follow later today (105.08.17), and squad leader nominations will open today and close on 105.08.22. Everyone will then have the opportunity to vote on the nominees between 105.08.22 and 105.08.26.
"Pilots need to sign up by 105.08.28 when the chosen squad leaders will pick their teams. We will make every effort to enable sign-ups right up until the event starts but we hope to keep this to a minimum as it always causes a great deal of confusion. For those of you that are new to WoW a brief overview:
"The original intention of this event has held up throughout the history of WoW. The event was created to allow everyone to wing with their enemies and shoot their friends. It also allows people that don't normally engage in combat with other pilots to drop their usual mission objectives for one weekend and join a large fleet and test the waters as part of a team. It has been amazing at how many bitter enemies have ended up friends after one weekend of fighting, killing, and dying together. There have also been quite a few non combat pilots that have decided they actually enjoy shooting their fellow pilots after such a weekend. The main objective of the Weekend of War is fun and it has never let us down. Don't take my word for it, ask anyone who has participated in the event.
"In a nutshell: 3 mixed teams of various factions, time zones and skill levels homed at their own designated unregulated station.
"The teams are chosen by 3 pilot elected leaders, the leaders are assigned their home station (EE,LL,KH) randomly. This is an all Honor Guard event. The teams generally organize and stock their stations a few days before the event. The scoring is tracked by a scoring tool and is brutally simple, a kill is +1 and a death is -1, the team with the highest score wins.
"We are shooting to make the this the best WoW yet (a tall order indeed) and have a few new twists and perhaps a surprise or two planned. So, get the word out and sign up. You may find it's the most fun you have ever had in Jumpgate.
"Stay tuned.
"Osprey."
