Brand new X52 - Small Y Axis drift

Well I finally broke down and got the x52 from Circuit City, and after a few days I must say, its a freakin awesome JS, I should have made the plunge sooner.

After a couple days of use, I noticed that the JS is drifting a small amount "down" or positive Y axis. Its a very small amount, but when I put Jumpgate at 0 deadzone, it makes the ship change coarse if I'm not paying attention.

My question is....is this normal? should I just set the deadzone in the game controller control panel (or leave Jumpgate at 5%) or should I return this JS as defective?

Thanks for your input.

Umm, dunno, can you? In the control panel it allows for you to easily set the deadzone for everything, but I don't see trim.

Re: Brand new X52 - Small Y Axis drift

Most sticks invariably develop a drift in one of the axis, although it's normally in the direction of most often use. I'd actually prefer a stick with a little bit of forward bias to conteract my tendancy to not pull to the stops when I'm circle-fighting in Jumpgate, although normally I go with 0% deadzone, 115% sensitivity to account for it.

Re: Brand new X52 - Small Y Axis drift

Yeah, reg price at CC is 109 right now, which is 20 less than best buy.

Both stores had REALLY crappy selection, it was either one of 2 crappy 20 buck JS or the mama of them all the X52.

Loving the X52 for sure though
