Xterminator Dual Control replacement...

I loved that stick.. but its been many years since i got it and i think i have worn it out. I dealt with the drifting with deadzone adjustments... but now the buttons are firing randomly every so often. Im going to try to take it apart and fix it... but that might kill it completly.

SO... other than the x52 that everyone seems to own or want to own. Are there any good low/mid range products out there that have decent acuracy/survivability/and buttons.

FYI this will be my first non-gravis joystick i have ever purchased... i have had great luck with gravis but as far as i can tell they only make console/pads now.

Thanks for the suggestions and help.

Well, I can tell you what I've owed. I had a Logitech something or other, about 3 years ago. It lasted two months in JumpGate before the drift and random skittering got to be to much. I've also owned a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro (2?). It lasted a good two years before I handed it down to my son. It still works okay, with only a minor drift issue which is easy to overcome.

So, in summary, I'd say if you can grab a MS Precision Pro, go for it. I know I've seen them for less than $20 on eBay, so it shouldn't be hard.

You could also look at the lesser Saitek sticks. I don't know much about them, but you can often pick them up for under $30.

PS: I now own a X52, which I highly recommend.

I was using a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro 2, sadly MS stopped producing them, I'm now using a Saitek Cyborg Force 3D, which I bought straight from there website as a reconditioned item. I would love to get an X52 someday.
