Re: ATI vs NVidia

I've had nothing but trouble with ATI drivers, so I've been an Avid Fan of nVidia for many years

Re: ATI vs NVidia

I seem to buy computers with nvidia more often, but I'm fairly certain that i'm just a pawn of marketing. I don't know why, on either count.

Re: ATI vs NVidia

nvidia. The only way I was able to get some ATI cards to work is 3rd party drivers. Their regular ones suck, and some of the features that I was wanting to use just wouldn't work. Hell, the whole Catalyst control panel didn't work at all until 3rd party drivers and software..

Re: ATI vs NVidia

ATI originally sucked, then Nvidia changed the game, ATI sat and watched and sucked for a long time, ATI made a big effort to catch up, Nvidia noticed them along side and revved it up some more, ATI said, "we shall suck some more and watch."

Nobody has a perfect record. However, ATI sucks.

Re: ATI vs NVidia

I was a 3dfx follower till they folded (I still have my 2 Blackmagics - for the SLI) Quake2 and CounterStrike looked so neat with them.

When they folded, I went with nvidia and havent left since. One thing I've done is stop buying the higher priced cards, the Geforce2 GTS was my last high priced card, now I go with less-than-100-bucks options, which still run great and moves my games (I play old games for the most part).

Re: ATI vs NVidia

I did buy ATI once, and I'm sticking with Nvidia. Although I'm watching ATI/AMD cards.

Re: ATI vs NVidia

For me it was a bad experience with ATI, and never having a bad experience with Nvidia after switching to them.
