Window mode

Hey:

Well, we were talking about GPU's on the other thread and Im now facing a 'new' problem. As I said, I play old games. Right now I own a 17" LCD 4:3 resolution, so whatever I play looks fine.

My brother recently got a viewsonic 19" widescreen (1400x900res) and as we play ol' CS and UT and such, we know that some games simply won't support widescreen resolutions.

Now, CS, the one I have does, so Im good with it. But I was wondering what to do with the others. I have an old car game (Sports Car GT) which in-game doesnt support widescreen resolutions, so, cars look wider and even though it works fine, looks odd.

At some points, Id prefer playing in window mode to preserve the original resolution, but I've noticed that in this case, no matter how many times I've tinkered with the game properties... I can't get it, furthermore.. it stopped working (which is a matter of reinstalling and I have the cd so...).

So far, only game that I can go into window mode easy is Medal of Honor. Unreal Tournament I remember there's a way to get it working in widescreen (and not only widescreen but also multimonitor) but I dont remember where I saw that.

The shortcut gives me only normal, minimized and maximized options, no windowed option. Any other way you guys heard about making it work in window mode?

This is a real good resource for wide screen and gaming. Lot's of good stuff there. Perhaps someone has a FOV mod for your games that don't give you luff.

Found a fix for unreal tournament, pretty easy to work with. Problem is, and well, not a problem, mostly a scale thing, Id have to put 2 monitors together and see if its stretching it or not, I can't honestly tell the difference.

Found a fix for Medal of Honor, but looks like it didnt work with my version

Im still looking for the old car game, but found some forums about the game and now Im researching/asking for it.

Well, not even a mention on the surround gaming site, thanks for the link though, it has another possible fix for MoH.
