Windowed Mode has been confirmed, but not sure about how that will allow interacting with other windows....perhaps Striker can tell us.

Some games cause the mouse to be way too sensitive and act up in windowed mode. I hope that isn't the case with Jumpgate Evolution.

The other nite I tried to set the 2nd monitor (the projector) to show the same as the main screen and it didnt. Even though my projector allows 1024x768 it wouldnt let me set it that way, so, I never got to see it working.

Then, when I decided to show off an avi, on the projector... it wouldnt either. It was set as it was but wouldnt work at all. I had to fiddle with the options, restart 3 times and then it worked as it used to be.

What does ultramon do that nvidia's cant?

Right now, with the HDMI cable connected, when I double click on a video on the web, it displays on the projector, full screen, with the right aspect ratio, a feature that Im loving. But, I dont turn on the projector all the time, and right now the system is set to show all videos on the 2nd monitor. Even VLC gets darkened, I can't see anything unless I turn on the projector.

Anyone ever experienced something like this?

Not sure if this would help you any, but ill just throw in my 2cents. A buddy of mine uses this adapter for all his flight sims and he loves it. Its called TripleHead2Go its made by a company called Matrox. It costs around 300-450 depending on if your analog or digitial. I know ill be having a 3 display soon Probably didnt help you at all with your problem, but i thought id just throw it out here lol.

I know Matrox, I've sold some of their video cards some years ago, they were behind in the 3d performance against nvidia and ati. The Parhelia was the first with 3 connectors. I'm not really looking for 3 monitors, I just wanted to see if that utility (ultramon) really worked

The projector right now is getting any video signal from any players I have... but those that come from webpages like hulu.com or race videos and such from nascar.com are not working, which is funny btw because the ones from nascar used to work fine.

I guess all will be well when I move this computer to somewhere else and get a dedicated HTPC for the media, then the projector will be the only display and I expect to see no problems there.

Its funny how the nvidia control panel changes options depending on whats connected. I did test setting it to 1080 and it did quite well, which surprised me since I was told that its max resolution was 1280x720 and windows basically got it to 1920x1080 (or something like that). I could tell the desktop was bigger as I was using the Rhododentron wallpaper, u know, the one with the big red dots (not just dots of course). I can see more 'dots' in 1080 than with 720, a LOT.

I knew it was able to receive 1080 connections but somehow I thought that it would downconvert to 720 and seing the desktop at 1080 was surprising.

Note about the dual/tripleheads2go...MAKE SURE TO CHECK COMPATIBILITY with your video card. I bought them for work, and came to find out our laptop vid cards didnt support them correctly. They are quite nice when they work tho.
