Not surprisingly, we are seeing an influx of new players at JSR. And we are bound to see more as the deadline for shutting down the EU server approaches. I would like to take this opportunity to reemphasize the mission of these forums and the rules that govern membership.

The mission of this website is to provide a friendly environment to discuss twitch-based gaming, games that have joystick options and settings. It’s a small niche in the gaming community and deserves more focus.

This website also gives full support to a specific game of this genre. That game is Jumpgate. We wish to present Jumpgate as a good place to spend the limited time most of us have for gaming. Our desire is that people will find out about Jumpgate through this site, as some already have. We want the search engines to send people here when they search for various related topics. And hopefully, while here, they will investigate Jumpgate and join our community.

As a necessity to meet the above stated goals, this site is moderated. Some may have a problem with that concept. All I can say is that there are other choices for you that believe anarchy is the way to go. Other than that, you will not change anything here. The mission and focus of this community will not change, ever.

You are free to post your opinions on this site. As long as, it’s done in a civilized and mature manor. This site is open for viewing to anyone, including children. So, please post accordingly.

Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated from anyone.

Threats of any kind, directed internally, or externally, will result in a ban.

Thread hijacking, when a nuisance, will be limited through deletions or splitting of posts to their own thread.

Spoiling the party: If your post is intended to rain on others parades, degrade the spirit of a thread, or just throw your negative outlook, on an otherwise positive discussion. Don’t be surprised if your post vanishes without a trace.

Questions and help: If you have a question or need help with some aspect of a game or your rig, don’t blurt it out in another thread of a different topic. Post your inquiry in your own new thread in the appropriate forum. Otherwise it’s considered a hijack and will be moved, edited or deleted at a moderators discretion.

Moderators: Moderators are human and make mistakes. If you feel an action of a moderator is inappropriate your only two options are to contact me or accept it. Attacking moderators publicly is not allowed anytime. Two wrongs don’t make a right.


The games we play offer opposing sides, intense action and the thrill of PVP. These forums are not a game. They are an out of game neutral place. So leave the PVP and the arguments in game. Other than the IC postings in the Role Play forums that meet the ROC of this community.

Other than that, have fun, joke, poke fun, and discuss your favorite games in a friendly manor and all will be well. This is a community and should police itself. Moderation will hopefully be a last and infrequent response. Let’s take the learned lesson that Gossip offered in his final post on PJG.

# Just because someone is good at PvP and a worthy opponent in terms of technique and tactics, it doesńt mean he or she should be allowed to behave like a total ****ing ass on the boards or in game. Even if this person is the PvP god, he/she should behave. Being a racist, a sexist, a jerk or an ass must be off limits. Do not allow this to happen. You are the damn community, everyone of you. Íve seen an increasing number of sexist remarks towards the female players here on my site, and Íve edited most of them, but the bad thing is that most people didńt care about the remarks in the first place. Ím not pointing fingers here, but I guess all of you can read, so come up with your own damn list of names and start fighting the insults and mud slinging. Yes, Ím talking about the Robin Hood approach here. Try it, it́s not that hard if yoúre all work together. I also guess that the admins on both MG and ND boards will keep your names under wraps if you report idiots. If enough people report the same idiots over and over again, the idiots will be banned. (See next topic.)

# More people should be banned. I know that it́s hard to ban anyone when the player/customer base is as small as the Jumpgate community, but I think it́s safe to say that the number of nice people which have left the game in disgust is higher than the number of people which caused the nice people to leave and were supposed to be banned long ago. Just my two cents. BTW, Ím not talking about "carebear country" here. Noonés a carebear just because he or she doesńt like to be harassed, terrorized or insulted on a regular basis. If you think so, you are an idiot.

This site is currently looking for more moderators. It would be nice to have some representative of the EU server on our staff. We definitely will need someone fluent in German and English.

We are also currently looking for news reporters and reviewers to post news on joystick related gaming and peripherals.
