Near as I can tell, we don't know any more about the game today than we did yesterday. It's all still guesswork. I'm fairly certain there will be something resembling space ships involved. Beyond that... still waiting.

I think you're missing the point Tim. I and I'm sure most others will still give the game a go. We still like Scott. But things are different now. Netdevil is no longer the independent underdog we all rallied around. They are no longer the little guy like most of us are. They are big money now. They are "the man" now. I hold no allegiance to "big money" in this world. If the game is bad I won't stick around out of loyalty with this one. Because I know they won't stick around for us. Big money don't care about the little man. It only cares about the bottom line. I can't wait to give Jumpgate Evolution a try. But it's definately not the same. Nor will it ever be. Things change in this world. And this is definately one big change.

New to the game here, but veteran of MMO (Planetarion, E&B, EVE, SpaceCowboy/AirRivals).

In-game ads don't bother me, as long as it keep the game devs profitable and/or the monthly fee low.

Actually, if they were done IC (and not "over-done"), I think in-game ads would be kind of fun.

The thing here that rings truest to me here is that it would be hard to envision Jumpgate Classic having lasted any time at all if NetDevil had been part of a gaming holding company "back in the day." Things work one way when all you have to anwer to is to yourself; quite another way when you have to answer to investors and/or shareholders.

Also when or "if" (but I think When) Jumpgate Evolution fails, Scott can forget about making inovating games and especially space games, like he said he liked doing.. He will be designing orc and spiderman panties.

Eventually he will resign from Gazillion, retire and make games in his garage or start up a new company and aquire BSG mmo license..
