Should Joystick Required Change it's Focus?

Here is the question I am asking you. Since twitched based gaming seems to be a dying or stagnant Genre at this time, should we change our focus to a broader range of games? Should the name "Joystick Required" just become a catch phrase for gaming in general? Would any of you want to open discussions on other games you play that are not twitch based? Or, do you not care one way or the other? I need some honest answers as I decide how to proceed with this site.

And for you Jumpgaters I should clarify. This has nothing to do with the Jumpgate section or it's main page. This has to do with Joystick Required as a whole. The Jumpgate sections will not change if changes were to be made.

I don't play any other games, but I also don't care if other people discuss them here. Just depends if you are trying to build the site as a (yeah right) advertising revenue source or just want to keep it with the niche of JS games which you are correct in saying seems to be a dying breed.

Thus, my I don't care vote. Even though I don't "just lurk."

widen its scope I say, the more the merier. EvE would be good to incorperate as that the only other game I would play.

A lot of our members play WoW as well. Maybe they would like to discuss that game here amongst friends from Jumpgate etc,...

Well it depends. When it comes to joystick + twitch based, yeah you don't find those type of games in the market or even in the internet world for a while. When it comes to sci-fi games, it's always a stick in the eye for space flight only sim fans who enjoys using a joystick.

Because game developers who are attempting to make a space trading game always seem to be stuck on capital ships and some RTS because they claim it gives players more freedom like that. Infinity Online is a good example of that. Yeah there is space flight in that upcoming mmo but they plan to add a lot more different gameplay styles besides that.

On the other hand, when it comes to twitch based using mouse only as in a walking around first person shooter with some vehicles, those are not really rare. I do play UT2004 almost on a common basis.

I'm not too sure about changing it's focus. It's all up to who ever wants to do it.

Add more games, WoW would be nice, I play quite a few FPS's, Darkstar One is fun and I'm really looking forward to Infinity. The more people you can attract the better.

Well pizzamanb, the purpose of a discussion forum is for discussions. If that's not happening then it must evolve or die. Continued existance with no purpose is lame and a waste of my time and more inportantly, my money. It is very expensive to maintain a site that get's as much traffic as we do but does not fulfil it's purpose.
