Universal Combat Add-on Announced

I received an email from Derek Smart this morning regarding an add-on for his latest space simulator, Universal Combat. The add-on is called Hold the Line, and here's a clip from the FAQ:
ARE THERE ANY NEW INTERFACE REVISIONS?

Very few. If you already own Universal Combat, the interface and how the game works, should be all too familiar by now. If you don't already own a copy of UC, uhm, what are you waiting for? Christmas?

In saying that however, where identified, interface revisions may be necessary in order to support a new and/or improved feature. Some examples...

The personal rocket launcher (automated in UC) now uses a mini Tacops map for target acquisition; whereby a player can use it to lock on to a ground target that is out of visual range or which has been previously designated (using the existing Target Designator Unit) by another player.

The DJP menu is also now more intuitive and uses nested menus making it easier to navigate the destination.

The first person mini map is now also a lot more useful and can show the location of several other important elements in the immediate surroundings.

hmm, does it accept a Joystick? I only see mouse listed.

The real problem is the "vertex shader"/"pixel shader" - only BRAND new video cards have them, at all, so without one, you're screwed.

I dunno, it runs fine on my 2 year old GeForce 4.

geforce 4 what?

I have a geforce 4 mx440, and it wouldn't even install.

Must have a Ti model, cause none of the mx models have it

The FX series all have it, afaik, as do the newest series of ATI cards.

Anything before the Ti models for Nvidia doesn't have it.

That IS an important thing to note though, as the game will NOT RUN AT ALL if you do not have pixel.vertex shading support.
