X2: The Return Interview at IGN

RPG Vault has an interview up with Egosoft's Greg Kingston regarding X2: The Return, the upcoming expansion pack to the excellent X2: The Threat. Here's a clip:
Jonric: What other additions and changes will The Return bring, and to what extent are they based on player feedback to The Threat?

Greg Kingston: As with all our games, feedback from the community has been important in delivering what the gamers want to see next. You already saw this in several upgrades to The Threat during 2004; i.e. the improved property listings, station and factory management scripts, etc. There were also some other things that we really wanted to get into The Threat, but simply didn't have the time.

So in The Return, you will see several new types of ship, including the Tug class making it's debut appearance. There may also be a few things making an appearance - no pun intended ;-) - that the modding community has tried to get its hands on for The Threat! Something that has been in progress constantly throughout The Threat by both the community and us is the development of some excellent new tools through scripting; as a direct result, players will see the difference in combat and the economy in The Return.
