There was a request on the forums at www.dragoneyehq.com for Arty loadouts. Nohbody, would it be possible for you to add an arty loadout for each ship?

What arties, though? There's tons of combinations possible, depending on how much one is willing to spend (either money to buy, or time to hunt).
Frankly, that sounds like a task that appeals as much as gargling with rusty razor blades last used in a prison hospital. ![]() |

I don't doubt it's possible. I just know that I wouldn't care to be the one doing it, as it seems to be more effort than really necessary.
First and foremost idea behind the loadouts is to give inexperienced pilots a point to work from, with reference material for more experienced pilots being somewhat of a not-too-close second. Arties seem, at least to me, to be beyond those goals. |

Well, if you formed the ship loadout commitee like I suggested to you it might be an easy thing.

Or perhaps just a place for pilots to give their non-standard favorite load-out for which ever ship and why they prefer it to the standard. I absolutely agree on the arti-load outs, but if individuals posted their favorites or current load outs, it might give other pilots ideas on where to start or what not to try.
I've heard different pilots talk about using WE1,2,3s but never really saw much use/value to it. Who uses them, why and on what ship with which load out? There could be other interested folks. Or Elpirata's beloved SB1,2,3s set ups for artied HMs. Just a thought |

Ha, back from the (comparatively dead)
No reason to use 4 serializers over 2 nova/2 serializer on the nix. At any and all throttle levels, regardless of negative numbers on the power chart, the 2n/2s combo will put out more damage than the serializer affair. Gun efficiency > negative power numbers Either way, back in the day us nova nix pilots had to fly with a Sport+! Not just a Cent. Mk.V, but a lousy tow PP!!! |

As for plasma gun choices, I didn't recall gunning at speed being more damaging with Novas in the mix, but it's possible I may be working off of misrembered or now inaccurate data. I'll take a look at that in a bit, right now I'm still kinda zorched from work. :P |

Ok, I checked out the Nova/Serializer thing, on the plasma nix.
Turns out that I either misremembered or made an unwarranted assumption on the firepower issue. For 10 second runs, Nova/Serializer edges out just Serializers when running a TRIP-1 PP (half throttle: N/S: 123400K, S: 119000K; 50% throttle because that's the highest throttle a N/S TRIP-1 nix can do without a Nova not firing after the first few salvoes), but does much better when running with an Intimidator PP (full throttle: N/S: 149600K, S: 129200K). Now when I get time to run the numbers for that (and redo the arty hunter HM configs, I forgot about biomassing) is another question entirely. ![]() |

Plasma nix loadout updated to reflect a Nova/Serializer mix, and I've tweaked the arty hunting HM descriptions to note the Burglar option.
(And, for that matter, added a Khamsin arty loadout, which was previously absent. Why didn't any Quantar notice that deficiency? ) |
