Why not take it to the top? I like that it is always there so I can change stations quickly and easily, but if you want to save width it would do well as a bar across the top. I get a little lag when I pick a station, but not any that bothers me. That's why I asked if you were pulling the station graphics from JOSSH a while back, that's what I thought might be causing the lag.

Oh, and those custom/production/consumption tabs: Personally, I think it'd look better if they didn't pop out, and the ones you mouse over just became the front tab.

The stations on top also increases real estate, just vertically instead of horizontally. But if it was narow enoough it might be cool. I'll meditate on that. ummmmmmmmmm..........zzzzzzzzz zz

Doh. That part of the answer wuld help eh. I agree with you Jump. I like them popping out.

I made them big because I might want to put something on them. Remember, this is just an alpha stage project. Things are half done, ever changing, and never good enough.

I have dumped the use of icons in the tree. That should speed things up and cut out a whole needless line of work in this project. Looks just as nice without them and responds faster with less b/w.

Alrighty...how bout some uber-cross navigation stuff.

Say I'm trying to figure out why Cornea isn't making any Sport+. I check the production stuff and see that the imported item Synthetics is out, so I click it. Station stocks for synthetitcs are 0 everywhere! What oh what do I do?

1. A link to the item lister let's me bring it up and see where synthetics are made.
2. The click I just did labels the producing stations with a (p), and clicking on that station name (in the second frame) opens up that stations production tree right to synthetics!
3. I leave jump alone and check JOSSH

Also on the consumption tree, would it be possible to show what that station uses that item for?

You click on Synthetics under the con mats ingredients to see the availability in the middle frame.
You see there are none in space and you can't tell where they're produced.


Could you make it work like the Item lister tool? Where it shows (P) next to the station(s) in that list (in the middle frame I mean) that produces them? That way I would know to click on Oct Core and Corridor to see what needs to happen to get Synthetics production going again.
