The Flaming Pie Squadron
I realised the squads hosted here all have subforums, so I reckon they are featured on Joystick Required? I hope you don't mind me plugging The FPS here, but if you do I'm sure there's a delete button somewhere.
Il'l get on with my recruitment post now:Ahoy there mateys! Allow me to tell you a tale of The Flaming Pie Society - veteran ship captains from Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS). Originally, we formed during beta and we went on to play on the Roberts server as members of a well organized British alliance. We were known for being a small, tight-knit group, but despite our size we managed to build and provide Ships of the Line to our members at cost. We participated with our alliance in the legendary Roberts server's first-map struggle, and after three hard-fought months helped to finally defeat the wicked Spanish, the crafty French, and the carefree Pirate Societies. Sadly our interest in PotBS did not last, and we explored other games. Jumpgate Evolution looks to be a game in which the Pies will sail together again. We have started to upgrade our site and we've made a small name change; hereafter, we are The Flaming Pie Squadron, and we will be looking for enemy ships to sin... uhh ... blow out of the sky. We are, of course, open for recruitment. If you are interested in learning more about our members and our squadron, please visit our website: www.flamingpie.org. I am available to answer any questions you may have, and you may send me a Personal Message either here or at our site. I hope to see you soon! Wolphard |

Re: The Flaming Pie Squadron
FYI, the squad sub-forums aren't because Jump is 'featuring' them. Rather, the leaders of those squads requested private squad forum space, which Jump kindly sets up for them. Not that it seems you're in need of those services, I just thought you might like to know

Re: The Flaming Pie Squadron
It seems I'm unable to edit the original post? I'll just post the new write-up here then.
We've taken some decisions since the first post and I felt it was time to give some additional information about who we are.Ahoy there mateys! Allow me to tell you a tale of The Flaming Pie Society - veteran ship captains from Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS). We originally formed during the game's beta test and then we went on to play on the Roberts server as members of a well organized British alliance. We were known for being a small, tight-knit group, but despite our size we built Ships-of-the-Line for our members and provided them at no additional cost. We participated with our alliance in the legendary Roberts server's first-map struggle, and after three hard-fought months helped to finally defeat the wicked Spanish, the crafty French, and the carefree Pirates. Sadly our interest in PotBS did not last, and we explored other games. Jumpgate Evolution looks to be a game in which the Pies will once again sail together. We have started to upgrade our site and we've made a small name change; hereafter, we are The Flaming Pie Squadron, and we will be looking for enemy ships to sin... uhh ... blow out of the sky. We currently have quite a mature member-base that established itself in the corporate world, education, and the military. Organizational management is one of our many strong points, as we bring the experience from our professional careers to the game. Our members play for fun, but also seriously and never half-heartedly. We keep an eye on the big picture, never put ourselves before our mates, and always look beyond our own individual interest. Successful new members will embrace and display this spirit of cooperation. Still, we respect and recognize the unique background that each individual brings to our group. To reflect the plethora of our diverse backgrounds, we plan to fly as a multi-national squad. This decision allows us to take advantage of the best characteristics from each nation so that we may form a solid, well-balanced group. The Flaming Pie Squadron will actively seek a faction with which to align, and through these contacts we’ll establish our reputation as an honourable and courageous force. We are open for recruitment. If you are interested in learning more about our members and our squadron, please visit our website: www.flamingpie.org. I am available to answer any questions you have. Feel free to send me a Personal Message either here or at our site. If you decide we are the right squad for you, I invite you to fill in an application on our forums. I hope to see you soon!
