Official Squad Policy

GENERAL BEHAVIOR

A Drakhai pilot is to behave honorably in everything they do. Aside from specific situations, mentioned below, Drakhai pilots are to use their best judgement on how to carry out this directive. Also, there is no dishonor in following orders from those so empowered to give them. The responsibility for the honor of those orders lies on the shoulders of the Drakhai pilot giving the order.

MEMBERSHIP

All pilots, regardless of faction, skill, or rank, are welcome to join the squad. The only exception to this is for pirates; no one involved with piracy at any time shall knowingly be allowed into The Drakhai, under any circumstances.

PIRACY

We do not condone piracy by squad members, period. If we receive legitimate notice of a Drakhai pilot committing piracy or otherwise attempting to extort monies from other people, they will be removed from the squad as soon as possible.

If a pirate issues a PoD (Pay or Die) demand, you are not to pay. The only acceptable options are to leave the area or to fight as best you can, while maintaining honorable behavior. Drakhai money will never fund piracy.

Attempts by pirates to steal from the cargo hold of a The Drakhai pilot will be resisted with the maximum force possible under the circumstances.

POLITICAL POSITIONS

The Drakhai recognizes 4 distinct political conditions between squads or individual pilot:

Alliance: For all practical purposes, an allied squad's pilots are blood of our blood, and pilots of The Drakhai will take whatever measures necessary to help them. This is an agreement that will be very rare.

Non-Agression Policy: We will neither attack nor help others to attack a NAPed squad, in return for their giving The Drakhai the same courtesy in return. Helping others attack a NAPed squad includes not only direct agression, but informing that squad's opponents of pilot or fleet locations.

Hostility: The Drakhai will not attack first if a pilot or squad so listed is merely flying by, but they will be watched closely. Any acts of aggression by those on this list will be met with immediate violence.

War: Squads with whom The Drakhai are at war are subject to being fired upon at any time, without advance warning or notice. This may include downing pilots wearing TRI-Civilian tags, at the discretion of the senior squad officer available at the time, but will not include attacking miners, pilots below level 18, or those otherwise unable to defend themselves

BEACONS

If the beacon is in your own faction's territory, and not set to that faction's colors, you are free to reset the beacon. For beacons in territory outside your faction's space, but not part of another faction's space, if it is gray you are free to set it to your colors. If the beacon is not in any faction's territory, but is set to another color, it is at your discretion as to whether to set the beacon or not. Do keep in mind that some object strongly to their beacons being tuned to another frequency, regardless of where it is. If confronted by another pilot about a beacon, do not get into an engagement if at all possible. Squad policy considers such engagements, when started by Drakhai pilots, to be dishonorable. There is nothing about beacons, at this time, that demands blood be spilled. Beacons in other factions' territory are off limits, regardless of what color they are set to. The boundaries of the factions, recognized both by TRI and The Drakhai, are as follows:

Solrain: The Lesser Locks, The Greater Locks, and Bronci Rift
Octavius: The Gurge, Dark Gateway
Quantar: Ring View, Quantar Gate, Great Venure Belt

Any beacons within and including those boundaries are off limits if you are not of that faction, period.

CONFLUX KILL POLICY

If another pilot is engaging a member of the Conflux, and looks as if they might need help, ask over F3 if they need assistance. Unless specifically told "yes", do not engage the flux yourself, though you may, at your discretion, stay relatively close in case the engaged pilot changes his mind. If there is no reply, that is effectively "no", and you may not engage, even if they are on the edge of destruction.

When engaging a flux ship, and another pilot steals the kill, you are NOT to "talk smack" to the pilot who stole the kill. If they're obnoxious dicks about it ("haha, I stole your kill" and so forth), don't return the favor. Engaging another pilot simply because they talk trash is not the act of a warrior, who is to remain in control of their emotions at all times, instead of letting their emotions control them.

If you and another pilot are jointly engaging a flux, and you are credited with landing the killing shot, you may, if you wish, offer half of the cash value to the other pilot, and pay via /give if they accept the offer. If they decline, then everything is fine, and continue on your way.

GENERAL ENGAGEMENT (PvP)

If a Drakhai pilot is shot at AND HIT (key point) by another pilot with whom we are not actively hostile to, they are authorized to return fire. If a Drakhai pilot is engaged by another, all other Drakhai pilots close-by are to join up with the attacked pilot, and dispatch the aggressor(s) with overwhelming force, then proceed to the nearest station and land, with the senior pilot remaining outside until all others have docked. Seniority goes by squad rank, or if the pilots are of equal squad rank their TRI rank shall be used to determine seniority. The only exception to this will be pilots with 50% or less armor remaining, who get landing priority regardless of squad or TRI rank.

If a Drakhai pilot is flying as a wingman for another pilot not of the squad, and that nonsquad pilot is attacked, the Drakhai pilot is authorized to return fire up to and including deadly force, as if the wingman was a squadmate. Squad or faction politics aside, you never leave your wingman unsupported.

For ANY engagements in conditions short of war, the involved Drakhai pilot(s) should contact the Kalralahr or his appointed representatives as soon after the engagement as convenient, including all the details available. Such reports shall be made either by e-mail (preferred) or a post to the squad posting board.

During times of war or other officially sanctioned aggression, against any pilot or squad, Drakhai pilots are to fly with honor. This means no trash talk, and no shooting down a pilot that is unable to defend themself (unarmed, AFK, or whatever). While there is benefit and honor in a successful jak-ta, to attack someone not able to defend themselves after the surprise strike is not the act of a honorable warrior. Any fool can kill a sleeping beast.

AT NO TIME ARE ANY DRAKHAI PILOTS TO INITIATE AN ENGAGEMENT UNLESS UNDER SPECIFIC ORDERS TO DO SO. No one below Shintahr rank has the authority to give such orders.

PUNITIVE MEASURES

The ultimate authority, in regards to punitive measures for disobeying an order or any part of this policy, lies with the Kalralahr. Shintahr or higher may give punishments as they see fit, except in cases of removal from the squad or other drastic measures, as defined by the Kalralahr. Shintahr or higher may recommend removal, but the Kalralahr has the only authority to remove, after a hearing between the accused, the accuser(s), and the Kalralahr.
