[JSR] New Interactive Event Calendar
We now have an interactive event calendar. Just set up your event in the calendar and members can add their name or remove it from the attendance list with the simple click of a link. Now organising and participating in Jumpgate events is easier that ever.
If your on the front page just scroll down to the calendar block and click on the 30th of October. If you're in the forums just click on the calendar button up top and choose the Jumpgate calendar and proceed to the same date. Go ahead, give it a try. Jump |

Coolness
![]() I'm thinking, tho, that displaying the birthdays might clog things up. I noticed that there is a very cool, uber-ish sounding event on the 24th of October, but it's pretty easy to miss what with the crowded calendar. Even more concerning, is what would happen if another nifty event (even though it certainly couldn't be any cooler than the afore mentioned event, of course) were to come up on the 24th of this rather chilly yet still interesting month? On the other hand, seeing the birthdays on the calendar certainly keeps it looking busy, and blank calendars are rather dull. Maybe there could be a notation on days in which there are news events, too. |

How about if the current day for the calendar (including the fancy events of the day) were displayed on the front page? Also, maybe another calendar could be the "news" calendar, on which all front-page threads and/or News threads were highlighted. Then perhaps a person could have an Uber Calendar that would display all three: events, birthdays, and news.
also, could we make it so that one can give a reason for thanking somebody? LIke, a few words about why a person is so wonderful that they deserve the grace of my thankyou? ![]() |

Ok, my last try at this kiddies. As stated in the original post.
1. Just scroll down to the little bitty calender side block on the right side of the front page. 2. See how the 30th is highlighted? Click on it. 3. See how it shows the calendar events for that day? 4. See how I set up a ficticious event for testing? 5. See how It has a little link in brakets that says "I will be attending blah bla"? 6. Click it. 7. See how your name is now added to the list of attendees? The events will eventually be displayed on the front page so the suggestions above are irrelevant. *goes back downstairs to look in the freezer for the 4th time and wonder why there is no ice cream.* |

On the main home, replace step 2 with 'Click October 2005'. 3. Scroll to the bottom of the default calendar, and look for the Calendar Jump pull down box. 4. Pull down the calendar pull down and select Jumpgate. 5. Scroll to the bottom of the Jumpgate calendar, and notice the previous month (october) has the 30th highlighted. Click on that. 6. Continue with Jump's step 3. Quote:
