Dang, we are never going to hear the end of this from Microsoft. Mike oldest son raided his iTouch savings to go and buy it. It's funny how suddenly it's in the entertainment launch category. I guess when you mash the competition it's time to look at loftier goals.

I like how they compare a $60 video game to a $9 movie ticket. Talk about comparing apples to oranges!

It's true. But isn't it also true that video games cost more to make and develop than most movies?

A modern movie usually costs about $120 million. A modern game I would guess would cost about $10 million.

Re: Halo 3 : Biggest Day in U.S. Entertainment History

My console playing friend and I played through this a couple of weekends ago. It wasn't particularly fantastic. I'm sure the multiplayer counterstrikey aspects of it have to be the redeeming factor, but campaign mode wise....I enjoyed that Gears of War (i think it was called) more. Not much much more...but definitely more. The crouching and poking your head out and all that was more funnerest.

Re: Halo 3 : Biggest Day in U.S. Entertainment History

I never got into the Halo games, even tho I do like me some FPS. But I dont have an XBox either, and by the time it came to PC I wasnt interested. I dont like playing FPS on a console, its not as intuitive for movement and aiming.

Re: Halo 3 : Biggest Day in U.S. Entertainment History

I hate playing FPS games on consoles. I'll wait till it comes out on PeeCee.

Its very sad to me that this game was 1 week from release for Apple Computers before M$ bought them and ruined it all. "Black Monday"

The only thing I enjoy about console games is that they seem to let you play through the campaign with your friends...even if you have to be sitting in the same room. Then again, you get to sit in the same room as your friend and play at the same time without a LAN...that's kind of cool too
