Heavenly Sword

Though I've not yet played all the way through this particular title, I've played enough to know that I recommend you give it a whirl if you have access to a PS3.

I've heard it described several times as a new 'God of War', and that's fairly accurate. The combat is slightly different, and there's the sniping/six-axis thing, but the core gameplay revolves around an overpowered hero slicing through bunches and bunches of flesh, and pictures of buttons movements appear on screen and you have to mash the appropriate button quickly.

It's good times though, for sure. I even enjoyed the acting and cut scenes. Hell, I recommend playing it just for the satisfying 'thok' sound you get when you sink one of Kai's arrows into an eye socket.

Re: Heavenly Sword

I watched the animated episodes before the game was released. They looked nice and set up the game well. I haven't actually played the game, but Yahtzee slammed it for only being 4 hours long.

Maybe worth picking up in the bargain bin? (does such a thing exist for PS3 yet?) The sequel could be successful though.

Re: Heavenly Sword

What does it cost to rent a PS3 these days anyway?

I haven't even played God of War yet, lol! It seemed very hack-n-slash to me.
