Armor configuration
How about for the new ship systems....
We can actually choose between a couple set amounts, of how much armor WE want on the ship. That way you can either have a "light nix" or a "heavy nix" You know what I mean, give US the power to decide how much of that armor we want to haul around. If we are super badass PvPers and think we don't need it, then let us. Just an idea popping around the head. |

Re: Armor configuration
I like configurable ships as long as it can be set up so there will always be a "disadvantage" for ever "advantage" and not some uber set up that everyone will use.

Re: Armor configuration
Well, the disadvantage of taking more armor into the ship... is more mass and hence... sluggish acceleration. The thing with this, which is not necessarily bad, would put more stuff into the equation and you no longer could think of a Nix as what you are use to it, Id say it throws a 'guess' into the formula which I'd like.
Coming upon a Nix 1 on 1, light nix might be not faster, but would have a nifty throttle response compared to both a normal Nix and a heavy armored Nix. But you won't know untill ur into the fight. ELP |

ding ding ding. You "got it" And of coarse this could apply to other ships as well. If your going to be in a "tow" hauling very expensive equipment that isn't that heavy, you can have the option to armor the hell out of your ship for that added bit of protection against pirates, flux, unreg, etc etc. |

Re: Armor configuration
Correct, its f=ma where a is the acceleration, not speed. Speed is thrust * drag. Same as now, a loaded tow will get to the same speed eventually as an empty one.
