Auto targeting.

No not auto aim, just automatic feature for targeting ships/stations. I hate being in combat with 15 other pilots around me and try to target the pilot infront of me by scrolling my mouse wheel..

I suggest a system that targets automaticly at what you are pointing at.

Of course this feature could be turned off in settings if not wanted.

But I wanted to ask what advantages or negative sides do you see in such a system?

Re: Auto targeting.

don't we have a target under reticule button now?

I wouldn't want to always be targetting whatever is in front of me, where if I turn a little bit, suddenly i'm targetting something else. However, if the TUR button isn't working properly, or easily in PvP then that should be fixed

Yes you are right we have TUR already, and for me it is as good as need be.

Indeed, I use TUR all the time, especially when fluxxing. It doesn't always work properly with stations, gates, and POS, but for flux and real people it works as intended.

I'm sorry you don't want to remember all the keys, but the feature is already there, and any sort of auto target will only disrupt other people's ability to keep track of targets the way we are used to.

G.Rasp flies in front of SS as SS prepares to triple MS spam TexMurphy...

I can't see any disadvantages, really.

As I said it would have to be players choise to use it, turn it off or on if you want, so it wouldnt disrupt anyone who doesnt want to use it..

But ok, I can see your points.. What if instead of targeting automaticly the ship, it just showed info of the ship/building/station. Like in normal FPS games, Armor/Shield status or other things if stations..

Re: Auto targeting.

I get frustrated looking for wake when sat in the PL Gate and having to scroll through all the ship buildings etc. Would be good if stations were selected as the 1st target in a station sector. Either that or take the producers off All No POS/MSL

I use TUR so dont see need for auto target, but many more options in terms of filters would be really useful in Evo.

Quant Enemy
Oct Enemy
Flux Enemy (maybe shows anomolies and hives too)
POS only
etc etc

Re: Auto targeting.

Yeah stations should always be the first selection, only makes sense.

Re: Auto targeting.

TUR works if you target the correct part of the structure you want to target. Again, not a suggestion.

Regards
Al
