"Camouflage " Intel Ship

A buddy of mine is wearing a Camo jacket today and it made me think....

How about a ship with the ability to "blend in" and have heavy eletronics packages that allow it to be unseen on radar, used mainly for judging enemy forces and gather intel.

If its in a redish sector, it turns red, if its on a white rock, it turns white.

How cool would that be?

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

I'm not a fan of cloaking, let me put that out there first.

Camo is fine, but cloaking from radar I really don't like.

Rat, there is already some anti-radar ECMs devices to keep you cloaked a bit, what I'm saying is to give them current stuff just a little bit of a boost (so you have to be in visual range-ish, and then with that, it will still be hard to see cause the ship will be camo-ed into the background.

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

I understand what you're saying, but I don't want to not be able to see or target other ships I can SEE on the screen because of some server side "feature". Cloaking is fine, but if you're in range of my guns and I can see you, I should be able to target you. No invisible crap.

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

such ship would probably have little armaments and a ton of slots for ECM items methinks. it'd be interesting to see how a stealth ship would be used in game.

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

Yep, said ship would probably have 0 offense, very light defense, and possibly be slower than a fighter.

I would think that if you could put the ship under your reticule, your targeting computer would be able to see it....but again, that would be tough, because the whole point is that you don't see it.

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

Cuz you want to people to interact with each other.

Besides, I dont want somebody following me when I'm hauling in order to shoot me down when I'm defenseless. To me it equals more worse than civ ripping.

I will come up with more later.

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

I don't want to be all by myself in a heavy ship either, but if someone makes all the effort and takes that much time to sit in wait. Just to give out your position....

He can't even shoot you, hes just gonna RP one of the "government drones"

Re: "Camouflage " Intel Ship

OEC used tons of times roid watchers in green space to spot enemy fleets and directions It can be sort of boring at times, but at the same time is insanely exciting, seing as the enemy goes by not noticing the dark ship in the ice roid (LOL, ok, that was SEEN lol).

Wouldn't you have liked a ECM packed deep mission scout ship with the ability to automatically notify your squad of enemy movements and "other fun stuff"
