factional isolation

I think it would be interesting if, depending on the story board, Jumpgate Evolution started with the factions in isolation. Give the factions a chance to build an identity and such before exposing them to each other..?

The factions not knowing each other just seems too much like to old back story of the great collapse. I can see some positives but i still don't like it.

Seems kind of pointless to debate until we know a) where Jumpgate Evolution is placed on the time line and b) the intended official backstory.

I assume that Jumpgate Evolution will be a "jump-ahead" of at least a few hundred years, but it could also simply be handled as a Jumpgate Classic "do-over." As I said before: the predominant majority of the people ND hopes to attract as subscribers will have little or no foreknowledge of Jumpgate Classic . . . so from that perspective the "do-over" would work just fine.
