In-Game HUD Squad Listing

an in-game HUD squad listing near the upper right portion of the screen. Perhaps text-only, that showed the names of which squadmates were online and maybe the fontcolor could be adjusted on a gradiant progressively from green to red showing combined armor/shield damage.

optionally, you could add 'status' icons next to each name which showed wether they were MT, Civ, or Pirate.

#1. It'd provide you with an at-a-glance view of who's online and generally what they were doing
#2. You could hide the display with a simple alt+s toggle, or something similar.
#3. While fluxing, you could see your squadmates status, if they are hurt or what not.
#4. In PVP it'd be infinitely useful. You could also add numbers along the side of their names like the following:

1. Berzerker
2. NatGun
3. Liet
4. G.Rasputin
5. Patroklos
6. Chubain
7. Ixholla

So you can hit ALT+# and instantly target that person.

By default it'd show online squad members. There would be an additional command to add people, like so:

/addwing Aubrey,Luke,JackOften,Lothar,E koostick

You could also have a command to remove people from the list, like so:

/delwing HiTekHick

It's important to keep track of people in your wing/squad. Vitally important. Especially during combat.

Berzerker and G.Rasp in the same squad! That would rule!

it would work great in a small squad.. but if you have 20, 30, 50+ people online in a squad.. wouldn't the list run off the screen or start taking rediculus amount of space on the screen?

true or you could pageup/down. Or have two options, 1 for squad listing one for wing listing. If your wing is bigger than 15 you need more wings.

I love this idea actually. The more i think about it, the more i wonder why its never been asked for previously. It makes tremendous sense in so many situations.

Well, it could prioritize names that sustained damage first towards the top, and excess names could run off.

Also, you could have some small dots next to the names which indicate how many FF's people have left. So at a glance, the fleet commander guy could know the full status of his ships and determine if they need to pull back and refuel or what not.
