I think it would be pretty awesome if there was a news-generating script on the server that could pull the flight recorder film of any ship to make a news clip, and every hour or two it would do so. Maybe have cameras set up in key locations (watching QC docking rings for example) or in a beacon to catch a flipper on film. Or showing the last 15 seconds that end when you successfully down another pilots ship.

That might tax the servers far more than they are capible of handling. Imagine all the datatransfers that will be occuring!

I dont' know. Servers are quite capable now (quad-core).

Its not the processing power that will kill it, its the internet bandwidth. Your basically asking every computer to stream video to it constantly.

I do like the idea a lot. The program that handles picking/choosing of clips needs to be super advanced, though. Then it has to match it up to text correctly. Yowza.
