German support for Jumpgate evolution?
I just want to remind Netdevil that thers still a german Jumpgate-community around.
Ankündigung von Netdevil - Ex Mightygames Forum It would be fine, if you could offer at least a german tutorial and login-instruction to keep this part of the player-base in the game. regards king0815 |

Re: German support for Jumpgate evolution?
Many more Germans (and Europeans in general) learn English than the English speakers learn German. And to a far higher standard. I have met many young Germans in England who are here to "improve their English". What, you mean so its better than mine!!
I see nothing wrong with the new game offering at least minimal multi-lingual support. After all, probably half of the old EU server was German, so many of these are what you would call potential "returning vets". That is all Smeg |

King has a point. But I wouldnt stop at just german.
I dont know any game that has only English support. Man, you people need to think outside the box. |

Re: German support for Jumpgate evolution?
In my opinion, the situation on the EU server did a lot to divide the community nearly into a German and a non-German speaking community. I suppose the fact that the EU servers were actually situated in Germany contributed to that, but I personally often wished that the communities had moved a little closer together (some people were quite present on both forums, like me).

Re: German support for Jumpgate evolution?
The Red Dwarfers at times contained many Germans. It really helped in terms of translation. But I know what you mean, it did seem at times there were two servers not one. Guess that cant be helped tho, most people are going to use their first language when talking to their compatriots.
On that front, wonder if ND are considering splitting the community again with the new game? Hmmmmm..... Smeg |

Re: German support for Jumpgate evolution?
Germany was our number one market when Jumpgate released so we certainly have not forgotten you. We are looking for partners all over the world for both local support and local servers for better latency performance.
That being said, it also would be cool to have the ability to fly with people all over the world as well, meaning perhaps local servers is a bad idea. So the short answer is, we don't know whats going to happen at release yet with other territories but once we know more we'll certainly pass that along. |

Re: German support for Jumpgate evolution?
I see no reason why support for other languages should be ignored, that being said I also believe that seperating the server populations again would be a bad idea. The more people in one place the better IMO!

Re: German support for Jumpgate evolution?
I didn't spend much time there so I could be wrong, but it seemed to me that the EU server wasn't divided by ethnic groups as much as it was divided by maturity level. Having a global server without lag issues would be the perfect solution (I could use the chance to brush up on my German), but not really feasible right now with a game like Jumpgate Evolution.
