Ideas inspired by Allegiance

Every idea can’t be original. Here are some of the things I liked from Allegiance that could be usefull.

Side thrusters - Lateral movement allowed for more strategy in Combat. It’s also a nice way to create variety between different ship types.

Different levels of Afterburners – Not all Flash fires have to be alike. Maybe some could burn longer but not provide as much thrust.

Quick Voice Chats – I thought this was a great way to communicate. I.E. a Pilot presses the ~ key then the 1 key and “I’ve got one a bogey on my 6” is heard by his group.

Minefields – someone else mentioned this in another thread. Scouts could deploy minefields that damage other ships that are directly behind them.

Bombers with Turrets: I’m not a fan of cap ships, but Bombers with Turrets would be cool.


Anything else that people liked?

Hehe, not that this is a concept I could see ever being used in Jumpgate, but I was the king when it came to using HTT's, especially Bios and Belters.

AB could have a sliding scale.... the longer you keep it on, the more it pushes (faster it heats up and uses more fuel too). This would be an all-in-one possible solution to your ideas.

Voice Macros - I would be against this. Thing how annoying it would be to have someone trying to sell something to you over a Voice Macro. If the voice component was not on a Jumpgate Evolution server, but being handled by squads or website webmasters (Jump) ... the end user would have the chance to kick someone off. That's the only way I'd go for it.

Minefields - the bigger the ship, the bigger the "attraction"

Turrets - I am undecided about how I feel in regards to auto-guns. They have a tendency to either be highly ineffective, or waaay too effective.

The turrets in allegiance were Manned, not automatic. I was thinking they could also be used on TOWS and Freighters. When a tow got attacked, the pilot could switch on Autopilot and use the turret to fight back.

Best thing about Allegiance was the 'no fuel' wav. tyvm allegiance

Oh and the ab wobble, that was cool too.

It wasn't just the wobble, it was the general sensation that your head was being slammed against the back of your seat from the G-forces. Like you just floored the accelerator in a street rod and you're holding on for dear life.

Spinning bases: I know it's hard to dock in them but it's also challenging.
Probes: Able to detect conflux and players, sends the info directly to you.
Time bombs and exploding bombs/missles on command.
