I like the idea of voice comms. While it is true there are third-party tools that work, with an in-built system would guarantee you could communicate with any ship. If you don't want to listen to radio chatter, just turn it off.

Personally, I'd rather ND's data transfer expenses go straight to something everyone uses (flying), with 3rd party software like TS and whatnot to handle the fine details for the smaller number of people who find it useful. All that chat has to use someone's pipes (or tubes ), yeah, but I'm not that keen on it being ND being the primary source for covering chat connectivity expenses.

I have never played a game that had it built in. Is the quality of sound as good as the alternatives? It used to annoy me when everyone would talk at once on TS.

Planetside had it and the one time I used it it sucked. It seemed like a nice benefit to include when it was added to PS but no outfit I've ever played with used it.....always our own server. Good question though....don't worry about this one Devs
