Making it easier: Computer "Upgrades"

How about to go along with the dampener idea, there are some other flight upgrades available.

For example, miners need to circle mine to really get something out of it. How about a computer upgrade that uses the lateral thrusters that can help them circle mine (very basic, won't be any good for PvP). Of coarse this is assuming its like Jumpgate Classic which it might not be, but we can expand on this.

How about another one that can scan for and dodge asteroids. You can call it the emma detector. This brings up putting debris in the way of gates and whatnot. This way if the pilot isn't very good at using the radar yet, he can buy an upgrade to help him out. Not asking for anything like an autopilot. (It can even have the woman voice "Honey watch out")

Then of coarse the docking aides. No explanation needed.

I'm sure we can expand on this, and perhaps ND will like some of the ideas.

Another one...

Auto Stop. The system will take one button to turn on, and will automatically flip your ship 180, and use just the right amount of engine / brakes to take the ship to a dead stop. Good for pilots that suck at getting the reverse vector right...especially when heavy.

I like the idea, but I dont agree with your suggestions. this is a skill based game afterall. If you cant manage to circle mine, then perhaps you need to practice more.

I wouldn't mind other computer upgrades... like a specific slot for 'computer software' that gives you abilities such as advanced targetting computer that gives you more info, such as how many FF/AB/MS the target has left, more control over your radar for detecting different types of roids and setting waypoints, efficiency software that gives slight improvements to your energy output or AB conservation, etc.

This was just a suggestion to try to make it easier for very new people, I would think the upgrades would be either time or level based so that the basic stuff like circle mining is not available for higher levels. Again this is a moot point if mining is not like it is in Jumpgate Classic with the bigger roids and all.

This was kind of along the lines for the Radar thread I made, also slightly touching on my revised modx idea. An efficiency software sounds really cool, and perhaps there can be different types/levels for the different uses and ships.
