There should be turrets! But they should only have a harpoon gun with a tow cable, so that you can shoot the offending pirate and then whip them into an asteroid!

it was never about right or wrong. I think you are taking it to far, not only you but many of us. We all want our ideas to be in Jumpgate Evolution. But we dont need to try to convince everyone around here. Just state your points in the thread that you created and stop repeating everything in every thread possible.

And remember somone will always dissagree so lets all agree that we can dissagree and stop there..

Agreed, Jumpgate Classic was not a "free kill" system, if you kill someone, there is a damn good chance you will pay for it later. Either through a hit contract with a mec squad, or being added to all the factional squad's KOS list, or even being chased down by the pissed off pilot. You never really know what would happen. A lot of people were good enough they didn't have to worry about any of that, but eventually they left anyway.

And I'm with Jonboy here. Thats why netburnr was never mean to anyone, always followed his RP, and didn't civrip. Because I wanted to be able to haul stuff and mine, and do whatever else without having to worry about a bunch of people pissed off at my actions. Hell most of the time I was mining or hauling, I was HG anyway, so even if the "PvP assholes" wanted to shoot me, they could, and the SYSTEM wouldn't penalize them. Sure I would hope back in a nix or ranger and call up a few friends, but I didn't make them go through 30 stupid missions just to get their factional rep back. I hated the stupid civ system then, and I almost hate it as much now. That is why I always fly HG (or in the case, MT now that they nerfed HG away)

You act like there are no consequences to civripping, its like YOU NEVER EVEN TRIED IT.

heres a question: some people here rather have AI escorts defend miners/haulers then why not just have AI turrets? wouldnt it be the same thing? just a thought

That's the ticket. Also, who you killed mattered a great deal as well.

But maybe that's just the name of the game in a skill-based system. Do we really want it working in some other, skill independent, way?

"Quoted for truth" is that really what QFT means? (shakes his head and starts to roll away...) Wait a minute! I object to "Bill" being the asshat in this little scenario!

Also, if you really want miners/haulers to be safe, give them umpteen missile slots capable of launching MS and they will be as safe as safe CAN be! Or an in-board missile re-loader that only functions at 0-5v
