I just have a hard time imagining it being anything but cowardice when a person would rather come to a forum and complain about how a certain system hampers their RP when they could easily play their RP with an alternate tag system that's already in the game.

Nah, if I murder a canadian in the US they still throw me in jail here, they don't let me slide because he was a canadian. By civving someone you make the entire faction look like bumperholes, so they should smack you for it.

Just for kicks, though, here's one that's more similar to Jumpgate: You're an armed vessel working for England, and you're at war (or things are really tense) with France. You come across a French merchant ship bringing cannons to France, and you take it or sink it. Congrats, you're a hero to England and France hates you. CONTEGO ENGLAND!

It boils down to what you want the Jumpgate universe to be. I know I have more fun when it's a Wild West atmosphere, where personal reputation and political climate have a direct affect on whether your cargo haul will be a safe one.

If you bothered to play yourself or even check my jossh profile, I currently have MT tags. I have since I came back. I'm not complaining because I refuse the system, I'm simply giving some feedback based on using it.

Right now I'm sitting with one mission to go on my MT tag because I don't want to get stuck with another 10 missions, but in reality I don't fly civ anyway so I guess it doesnt matter.

Exactly the point of the whole tag debate that has raged on for years. Right now people can hide behind a tag system even when their actions show they should be ripped. So the person who follows their RP, and decides to make a player pay for their past actions regardless of the tag system gets so heavily bountied they are now out of the game for awhile, or just decide to give up and quit. Thats the last thing Jumpgate needs.

I agree completely, what with space being the new frontier and all, but unless i'm mistaken the term riding shotgun came from the wild west, because the haulers shot back.
