SEPH! The Quants are crawling out of the woodwork, go figure. Dunno about a real neutral player faction, but if Istvan's interview and the info on the gaming news blogs is accurate, you're going to be seeing Hyperial and Aman NPC ships at least, as well as NPC pirates.

I thought that's what I said. I dunno about a neutral player faction, but at the very least we'll be seeing NPC's representing the non-playable factions (assuming Hyp and Aman, if they are still so named, will remain unplayable).

Well, let me expand on this. The ISU RP and the pirate RP for a long time have been somewhat unviable in a sense, they sorta fixed the pirate RP but really, if a pilot goes around fighting against TRI which is the organization that is providing them with a new ship every time they die, it really doesn't make much sense.

That's part of the reason why the GMs in the past have been anti-ISU RP. Now it is even worse with the new military tag system since it is the factional governments you don't wish to be apart of that are providing you with your insurance and ships and that you are essentially flying for. Any multifactional squad really has become very difficult to create with the current rules. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the HG system come back or some other alternative, but that's another argument altogether

Once upon a time before Josh left the game he promised a playable neutral faction, that has since been abandoned as far as I can tell, mostly because Istvan had enough on his plate. Now that it may actually be an option again, I figured I'd throw it in the mix of suggestions here.
