Re: New Group/Class of Ships
Quote From my post :Also, two ships are not necessarily better if between the two people you are talking about one sucks at flying and avoiding hits, but can target and the other sucks at hitting people while avoiding all the hits.
That is the situation i was referring to. |

Re: New Group/Class of Ships
So your thinking you can use the 2 person ship as a fluxxing ship?
I'm just not sure about the coding involved in making your wish a reality, or its impact on ship balance, so the idea doesn't sit well with me. But keep up the suggestions, the more we brainstorm, and the more NetDevil reads, the more ideas they will get and implement. |

Re: New Group/Class of Ships
More or less yeah, I mean it could be used for PvP but more useful for PvE. Also could be useful to have like a gunnery spot on say the rear/top of a freighter so you buddy could watch your tail end as you are running for your life with your cargo. Don't think any ships should go over 2 person, just would allow for some more options and more fun.
Also, I don't see where there would be too huge of a coding problem as when i started playing games many years ago, like Air Warrior 3 there were gunnery positions in player flown aircraft that worked and worked well, so... I just am kinda pushing this as this is one thing a friend of mine and I enjoyed in AW3 and have barely been able to find outside of a few of the Star Wars series of games. |

Re: New Group/Class of Ships
Read Karash's post about cap ships, I bet you would like it:

Re: New Group/Class of Ships
I would like to see a start with the so-called-octavian-gunboat, the Vulture, with a pilot and a gunner too, and then work your ways up if design and balance allows it.
I tend to think that the 2 man ship is a good idea for those of us who suck at PvP but still want to lend a hand. I dont think that for being in a 2man ship you're getting any better, after all the gunner is stuck with having to see where the pilot wants to go or such. But in some way, they could exist. In Aces High you mostly see fighter pilots in their ships, but sometimes you might find some pilots joining another plane that has 3 to 6 turret points. Is not that it makes you better or gives you better odds, is just another experience to have, which is nice IMO... having 6 mediocre pilots man turrets trying to defend a slow moving plane that a 7th member is piloting.... After all, the Jumpgate motto is: "there's nothing you can't do". ELP |
