I dont see the problem with it ok some of them are a bit silly but with any luck -Melkor- and -2- will still be flying in Jumpgate Evolution but TBO im not even sure if lordopic is going to make it into it, as I might start a fresh new game new name.

I am getting curmudgeonly in my old age. I agree with the OP. In real life noone would be called XXXStåßface or indeed -=gotcha=--=-=->>}}=-=-. People create some really stupid names. I also ranted at the squad leaders of HARPOON-===--}>>. I don't think we need 1st, middle and last names, but they should at least be pronounceable.

I should make dumb names KOS too. If the devs DON'T implement this I'm gonna name an alt <a=href>joystickrequired.com </a>.

It's a tough call when you are going to have thousands of name selections and people want something original.

From my perspective, all I really care about is not letting people use problem characters in user imputed data. I haven't had any problems with player names that I can remember but POS names are a joke. They allow so many characters that are just trouble to deal with when using a database, scripting, and javascript. Stop Griefing me NetDevil!

this idea might be stupid at first but it dosen't have to be 2-3 fields.. just one field with a 12-16 character limit.

rules still the same. with first letter in the word capitalized only with no numbers. like a-z and one space between letters only.

hahahaha biteme, the good news is half the server tried F4ing em and no one could ever get it right. Those were the GMs in the MFs, right? That was a really cool RP event, but I don't think it ever went anywhere.
